Curriculum support for international schools
Curriculum support for your international school requirements
Choosing the best curriculum for your international school
The importance of your curriculum choice cannot be understated. Our curriculum support for international schools, be that for startups or established schools looking to change with the market, ranges from choosing a curriculum to ensuring it fits into your actual practice to give parents the results they expect for their child.
There are many factors to consider when choosing a curriculum, and the local market is key. Introducing an unfamiliar curriculum in a crowded market could be an advantage, or it could be a disadvantage. Each decision must be considered through a number of lenses.
We can support you choose and implement a curriculum that works for your school, including a discussion of curriculum you may never have considered.
Changing the curriculum your international school delivers
We have all learnt that change does happen, and what may have been a reality some time before, is not necessarily the same reality today.
Whatever the reasons may be, IGE can support you and manage a change from one curriculum to another. This may be a move within a curriculum, for example, from the Cambridge to Pearson, or from Canada’s Ontario curriulum to that of New Brunswick.
Or, it could be a complete change, from the US Common Core to IB, or a blending of your delivery of the IB with the English National Curriculum, IGCSEs and A Levels.
Whatever you are considering, we can support you at every step of your curriculum journey
Quality assuring the curriculum you teach
Our team have a great deal of experience across each of the major English language curricula used in international schools, as well as in school improvement. School improvement always rests on the quality of management, and the quality of teaching.
School owners may think their schools are delivering the curriculum that they subscribe to. Our experience in takeover management and curriculum audit, however, shows that this is not always the case, and there are common indicators that it won’t be. These include:
a high number of parental complaints about pupil outcomes
pupils being withdrawn from the school to attend other local schools
unqualified teachers in teaching roles
teachers qualified in a curriculum that is not the one the school delivers
primary school teachers in secondary school roles, or vice versa
a significant number of teachers and or managers that have been in place over 3 years
principals promoted from teaching roles within the school
a succession of principals promoted from outside based upon one overriding criteria
a high staff, and management turnover
IGCSE and A Level results showing that pupils are ceiling at the same grade in particular subjects.
Our curriculum team, a quality assurance audit, and management consultancy can set you on the right path to success.
Bespoke curriculum design
You may be establishing your startup international school, or expanding, and you may also be thinking of creating your own curriculum. There is a great deal to be considered when designing a curriculum, and your idea is just the beginning.

Parents must also be assured that your curricula meets international standards, and that it has longevity.
